Gov. DeWine sent a letter to the board of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation asking that they refund $1.4 billion in dividends to Ohio businesses. This dividend will equal approximately 100% of the premium you paid in 2018. Any amount exceeding outstanding premium will be sent directly to you. If the BWC board approves this request, the refund will be sent to employers later this month.
Lt Gov Husted stated today that 478 employers have added critical jobs that need filled immediately. If you are not working or if you have furloughed staff, please review the open positions to see how you can be of service to this cause.
Great news! Governor DeWine announced that Apple donated 100,000 N95 face masks to Ohio health care workers. The state received the masks Tuesday and they will be added to the Ohio Department of Health’s stockpile for distribution.
As promised, below is a more detailed listing of the services provided by the newly established Office of Small Business Relief. The link at the bottom will take you directly to their website. This is a valuable tool for our small businesses that I hope you will review.
The Office will coordinate state efforts to identify and provide direct support for Ohio’s nearly 950,000 small businesses.
The Office will initially focus on three key areas:
- It will serve as the state’s designated agency for administrating federal recovery funds awarded to Ohio for small business support and recovery.
- It will work with federal, state, and local partners to evaluate and determine possible regulatory reforms that encourage employment and job creation.
- It will coordinate efforts of the Ohio Small Business Development Centers and Minority Business Assistance Centers at local levels.
I hope you can get outside for a moment and enjoy the sunshine.
