March 24, 2020

Good afternoon.

For those in the 15th District, Congressman Steve Stivers is hosting a Small Business Conference Call. As you are aware, the call hosted last week by the White House was essentially ‘sold out’ and many of us were unable to log on. The call will take place Friday, March 27th at 2:30 PM. Please follow THIS LINK to get registered. Representative Stivers states “As Congress considers ways to support small businesses through this pandemic, I want to hear what you need and what would be most helpful. We’ll also be discussing some of the options already available, including the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans, and other options that may benefit your business.” I would suggest registering as soon as possible, should you wish to participate.

Lt. Governor Husted reminds us to review the definition of ‘essential business’ as defined in the official “Stay at Home” order. He spoke to the excessive amounts of calls the health department and law enforcement are receiving in reference to who is and who isn’t essential. Item 18 of the ‘Stay at Home’ order lists the safety measures you must comply with if you are an essential business still operating. It is counterproductive to act in any other manner. Click here for the complete ‘Stay at Home’ order.

Ken Ford, Ag Extension Educator states, “the state pesticide specialist has sent a link for the EPA’s list of products to use in regards to the coronavirus. This information should provide useful for some businesses and restaurants. To view the list, please click HERE

I will leave you with something I need to remind myself of occasionally. During this time of uncertainty, please choose purpose over panic and kindness over chaos.

Be well – stay well,
Julie Bolender
